Hello! I've got a 1976 Pacer with the 258, and a 2 barrel Carter carburetor. The engine will sputter, and stall out under acceleration from a stop. The carb's been rebuilt, all vacuum lines replaced, ported vacuum switches replaced, plugs, wires, etc. I did most of the work myself. The only thing I didn't do was rebuild the carb. I even bought a rebuilt one from Ebay, and tried that. The same thing happened with that one. It must be noted that I rarely start the car, and keep it in my garage. I might go about three or four months without starting it, sometimes longer. I lowered the gas tank, and drained out all the fuel. Everything looked good inside the tank, no rust or dirt, at all. I seem to remember that it ran well after I put some new gasoline in the tank, but I can't be totally sure. Anybody else have these issues with their Pacer?
