OK, so I buy a Pacer. I'm still looking.
How do I find out what parts from Jeeps or whatever, are interchangable AND where do I get new OEM parts.
Like correct color new OEM carpets. That always has to be done.
And everything else!
Thanks in advance!

its pretty tough to find OEM parts for pacers. there are NOS( new old stock) parts out there, but it takes surfin and surfing to find em. theres a NOT taillight lense on ebay now goin for $275 and a set of headlight bezels(NOS) sold some time ago for $600. I don't think your gonna find OEM carpet, but there is aftermarket carpet out there. heres where we got the carpet for the 77 I posted about justa bit ago: www.stockinteriors.com/AutoCarpet.asp?Itemid=41&MakeId=2&ModelId=15and it fit pretty good. there is an aftermarket supply out there, but it is rather limited to mechanical parts. s for any body panels, I spent a long time surfin and have concluded there aren't any aftermarket body panels. how about letting us know what parts yer lookin for?

Will a Jeep steering column go into a 76 Pacer coupe?

Hi Pete: Yes and no. It's about 1 1/2" long, if I recall correctly. You would need to modify the U bracket under the speedo area to make the mounting holes line up. I cut an extra and welded onto a unmodified bracket. Also, this brings the steering wheel towards you head. The fix is to use a Jeep steering wheel which is more shallow. I took one from a '80 Jeep pickup in a junk yard.I did it for the tilt function. Came out nice, but then you have the PRNDL on the column. I have a voltage read out for engine coolant built into my speed head, so I wanted the PRDNL. A column from a manual trans truck would avoid that. It's ALOT of work.
