Hi Everyone from Oregon,
I've been a lurker to this forum for about 3 years now. Thank you for looking at this post. My wife and I are selling her Pacer. I've posted the ad on Facebook Market Place, it can be found here: www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/780144072833872/
The Pacer has long been a dream car for my wife. I purchased this car thinking we'd do a light restoration on it (basically nothing show quality, but enough to get it on the road). I began taking it apart (and labeling everything) to get it ready to be sent to my body and paint guy. Unfortunately, aside from rotted out floorboards (which I could likely have fixed) I discovered some rot right at the top of the firewall where it meets the cowl and dash support bar. I'm sure it could be fixed by someone with some fab skills but this damage will put us far over budget for the car and is forcing us to abandon this project and hopefully buy a more complete pacer later. I'm hoping to find something that is mostly complete just in need of an engine (drive-train is more where my experience is).
It's basically a rolling chassis with windows right now. I have the original 258ci engine and transmission (I believe it's a 904). The interior had all of the parts there, however the B-pillar interior trim panels were pretty disintegrated and the upper dash broke above the middle area when I removed it. The front windshield has a crack, but all of the other glass and window trim is good. Like I mentioned in the Ad, I'm not willing to part out the car and sell parts individually right now. I'd like to sell the whole car with parts in one swoop, just trying to get what I have into it back out. I have a trailer and can deliver it if we're able to work out a deal that pays for my fuel (within around 5 or 600 miles of the Portland Oregon area, but we can talk if it's further).
These cars are getting hard to find, especially parts, as I'm sure you all know. They are a piece of automotive history and we would be heart broken to just take it to the crusher. We're asking $700 OBO for everything. I'm not sure if the link to the Ad will come through on this forum so feel free to DM me if you have questions or want to see pics.
